LLOYD SALTMAN suffered play-off agony in the Partypoker.com International Open at Fairmont St Andrews last night.
The former Walker Cup star was pipped to the £10,000 first prize at the second extra hole by England’s Sandeep Grewal after both finished on fourunder 212s.
Grewal, 27, fired a stunning five-under 67 in high winds as Archerfield ace Saltman fell away to a 75 after bogeys at the 16th and 17th.
In sudden death Grewal grabbed the glory with a par when they played the 18th for a second time.
Saltman, who picked up £5000, said: “It’sdisappointing but it’s been a decent week and it felt good to be in contention at a tournament.
“I felt I handled it well but it just wasn’t to be in the end.”
